Counselling is a collaborative process where you have a dedicated, safe and confidential space to explore your difficulties, make sense your emotions, thoughts, and behaviours, strengthen your resilience and process emotional wounds. In that way, you can start to feel better and more prepared to get through life’s difficult moments.

  • What is the purpose of the introductory call?

The free 20-minute introductory call is a time for you to get to know me and ask any questions you may have. It’s very important that you feel I’m the right counsellor for you.

I’ll ask you to very briefly explain what’s been going on and why you are looking for support at this moment, so we can decide if we are a good match.

We’ll can also talk about some of the practical aspects, like a regular time to meet weekly, how to pay, cancellation policy and next steps.

I will always give you time to reflect after meeting me before deciding to start and arranging a time for the first official session.

  • What sort of counselling do you offer?

Having trained in transactional analysis, psychodynamic and EMDR approaches, I’d say that each of these modalities influence my work with clients . You can read more about the different approaches to therapy here: https://www.ukcp.co.uk

I’m interested in the ways in which our past experiences and relationships affect our current relationships and I strongly believe that each person has an innate tendency for health and love, and that difficult experiences may be what’s blocking that tendency in you now.

  • How many sessions will I need?

For counselling: There is no straightforward answer to this question, and the duration of counselling depends on several factors, including the complexity of the issue you’re seeking counselling for and your own participation in the therapy process.

For coaching: The coaching program is 12 weeks long. Depending on which stage you start, your particular challenges and your participation in the process, you may wish to continue further than 12 weeks. Most clients that want to take advantage of the momentum created choose to continue bi-weekly for some time after.
