Helping you take care of your mental health abroad

Hi, I'm Renata.

Welcome to my counselling practice!

Just like most of the people I work with, I’ve moved countries a few times, I’ve been figuring out how to raise my kids internationally and I’ve met obstacles to continuing my career as I moved around.

The most rewarding thing about my work is witnessing a client walk away lighter, starting to believe in their strengths again, making the changes they wish for, being kinder to themselves, and regaining hope for the future.

Have a look around and, if you feel that this work could help you, let’s talk! I offer a free 20-minute introductory call so you can as questions you may have.

How I work

  • We’ll unpack what’s been going on, make sense of your experience, you’ll learn helpful tools, figure things out and start to restore confidence in yourself.

I listen deeply. I empathise. I ask questions. I invite you to reflect. I help you identify unhelpful patterns. I offer insights and helpful tools. I encourage. I celebrate with you.

My clients tell me that working with me is gently challenging and that I offer a safe, understanding, and productive space.

  • Most of my clients are women living overseas or young adults TCKs (Third Culture Kids) who are leaving their parent’s homes to go to University and navigating all aspects of becoming an adult abroad.

Some clients come for a deeper healing journey. Others, for more focused work on one aspect of their lives, like career, a specific relationship difficulty or after an overwhelming life event.

  • To start to gently shift how you’ve been feeling

To start to have space in your diary for yourself

To have a more relaxed sleep

To start to regain confidence in your competence

To start to enjoy your life abroad without having to pay with guilt and constant worry about your loved ones back home.

To reconnect with yourself and figure out what kind of work makes you happy

To be less worried about what other people think of you

Focusing on yourself doesn’t mean you’ll become a self-centered person, but that you can become a more relaxed, connected, and confident caring person.

  • The free 20-minute introductory session is a time for you to get to know me and ask any questions you may have. It’s very important that you feel I’m the right counsellor for you.

I’ll ask you to very briefly explain what’s been going on and why you are looking for support at this moment, so we can decide if we are a good match.

We’ll can also talk about some of the practical aspects, like a regular time to meet weekly, how to pay, cancellation policy and next steps.

I will always give you time to reflect after meeting me before deciding to start and arranging a time for the first official session.

Taking regular care of your mental health is not so different from taking care of your physical health.

The more you build your resilience, flexibility and knowledge about your own mind, the more able you are to face life’s challenges when they come your way.
