Take my client Denise, for example.
(Client has authorised the publication. Her name and a few details were altered to protect her identity)
Denise was unhappy although her life looked perfect on paper: 3 beautiful kids, living abroad, going to the most interesting places, awesome parties, coffees and making new friends. But every night when she went to bed, she had this crushing fear of missing the career boat.
Denise had been a successful lawyer with her own practice before she left Brazil. This was her 2nd country move and time was passing by. Her skills were starting to feel old and investing in certification to practice law didn’t seem worth it as she might move again in a few years. Several business ideas crossed her mind, but she didn’t find the energy to follow through with any of them. Her husband was supportive, but he traveled a lot and because she took care of most things in the household, she was too busy to even think about anything else. She felt overwhelmed by her options and hunted by her love for practicing law. She felt pressure to make sure any investment would take her down the right path and was stuck and going around in circles.
Denise and I worked together for 6 months, and during that time she became clear on what she loved about being a lawyer. She faced her fears of missing the boat, of losing her status as a lawyer and doing “lesser” work, and she understood the part of herself she missed. She remembered her talent and passion to write. She was able to challenge her belief that she would have to wait until they settled somewhere to go back to work, and she did some writing training and is now working as a law book editor / ghostwriter. She is also in the process of writing her own novel.
I believe in deep work for transformation, not just setting a goal and following up with my clients. I’m interested in understanding what’s behind your goal, what else, and what else. I’m interested in who you really are, and I want to help you recover the “you” that you loved and to uncover the “you” that you never imagined possible. During our coaching sessions, you will find the answers you need, explore, uncover, discover and design the new path that fits your expat life.
We’ll have powerful conversation based on proven methodologies that will help you dream bigger, make shifts, create energy, get inspired, understand that you are closer than you think to fulfillment, break through what’s been blocking you and clearing the space for your meaningful life.

Here is a client’s case to give you a better idea.
One of my Parent Coaching clients came to me because her 8 year old daughter had a really hard time doing her homework. Every afternoon was a battle she dreadfully anticipated. The child wasn’t misbehaving in school, she didn’t refused to follow the teacher’s lessons but at the homework table she was the unhappiest, most stubborn kid possible. After 9 sessions of Parent Coaching, she texted me:
“I’m in shock! My daughter sat at her desk, did her homework by herself and I cooked dinner with no interruptions.”
During the 10 sessions and 3 months we worked together, we uncovered how much the homework battle made my client feel incompetent, and how her daughter felt incompetent at the homework desk. My client got in touch with her guilt about moving the kids away from the extended family and was able to process those emotions. Another important topic was the influence that her relationship with her own parents had on her parenting pertaining to school matters. We explored the idea of picking your battles, and she chose what was really important to her. She set up a goal of acknowledging every little step her daughter took in a more positive direction. There were some setbacks, but her capacity to own her missteps and openness to learn from them amazed me every time. We talked about her dreams for her daughter and for herself. And much more.
Each coaching process is very tailored, but in every case we’ll have powerful conversations based on proven methodologies that will help you find the best parent within you. You will discover new ideas of how to deal with the challenges and make some small changes in your relationship with your child that will unleash energy and decrease conflict.

Your Turn is a 6 week group coaching program, with weekly two-hour sessions.
We start with a free introductory workshop to give people a test drive of the program and answer any questions you may have before committing to the program.
After that, one of the facilitators will interview each participant who signs up for the program before the first session to make sure content and exercises meet your needs.
In between the weekly meetings, exercises and food for thought will keep you warmed up and going. Don’t worry, these exercises won’t require more than one hour total per week.
You can expect to have a series of a-ha moments through exercises, practical tools, guided discussions and group wisdom and support. You’ll be working on a range of issues from beliefs and choices, to time and money and how to make it easier to negotiate your needs with your stakeholders (ahem, yup, including that ol’ partner of yours) and more.
There will be a group for ENGLISH speakers and one for PORTUGUESE speakers.
You’ll also have an individual coaching call at the end of the program to make sure you have a strong action plan to move forward.
Your Turn is a program for you if you:
By the end of the program the internal fog will have cleared. You’ll have organised your own ideas and feelings about going back to work – and how you can better deal with them.
You’ll have reflected about what’s important to you now and what makes sense for you looking forward. That will help you to have clear priorities.
You’ll feel reconnected with yourself and your talents, with a renewed sense of clarity and hope. And that will enable you to see more and better options.
No matter how big or small your next step is, you’ll have outlined a path that can work for you now. You’ll have an actionable plan to keep moving forward.
This work will transform how you feel about yourself. And that’s what changes everything.
